Mouthguards NOW | Grapevine, TX

Our goal is to help protect DFW area athletes from sports-related oral injuries. As a longtime Tae Kwon Do competitor and an avid flag football player, “Doc” Parker knows first-hand the importance of wearing custom-fitted mouthguards to protect teeth and gums from injury during athletic events. He provides mouthguards for several high school football teams, including the Southlake Carroll Dragons, Grapevine Mustangs, Denton Guyer Wildcats and Fort Worth Christian Cardinals. His goal is to bring this necessary, comfortable, and affordable protection to more athletes every year!

We strongly urge all children and adults participating in sporting activities to wear mouthguards. It is easy to take some things for granted until they are suddenly gone. Properly fitted mouthguards should be standard equipment for all athletes!

Custom-fitted Athletic Mouthguard

During your appointment, your dental professional will take impressions of your teeth. Using these, we will create a model of your teeth and design a mouthguard to fit over the model. Because the guards are customized to fit your mouth, they are more comfortable and less likely to interfere with speech or breathing. This is the mouthguard our team has proudly supplied to high school football teams and athletes of all ages across the metroplex for over 30 years.

Custom-fitted AND Personalized Athletic Mouthguard

Add some colors, numbers and/or initials to personalize your custom-fitted mouthguard.

Custom Fighting Mouthguard

For the past 30 years, professional fighters in multiple fighting disciplines have relied on our team’s custom mouthguards. The custom fighting mouthguard is made with an extra layer of thermoplastic material in the posterior teeth. Once fitted to the patient’s mouth, the mouthguard is warmed on the biting surface, and the patient is instructed to bite slightly into it with their lower teeth. This creates a reusable indentation that helps lock the lower jaw into its strongest, most stable position.

The thickness of this mouthguard allows the fighter to breathe through the mouth while keeping the jaws clenched, helping to reduce the risk of concussion. This is the mouthguard our team has provided to full-contact martial artists, MMA fighters, boxers, and other athletes for the past 30 years.

Under Armour Performance Mouthwear

As an authorized ArmourBite provider, our team will take impressions of your teeth and send them to the Under Armour lab to have your Performance Mouthwear custom fabricated.

Care for your Mouthguard

You should always wear mouthguards during practice and games. Never chew on your mouthguard as this can weaken the material and decrease its ability to protect your teeth. Holes, tears, and other damage may also irritate your gums or soft tissue in your mouth causing pain and other problems. If you notice damage, replace your mouthguard immediately. Before and after each use, check your mouthguard for damage and rinse it with cold water or mouth rinse. You should also regularly clean your guard with a toothbrush and toothpaste or in a solution of soapy water. Be sure to rinse your mouthguard well after cleaning and store it in a firm, perforated container. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near high temperatures as this can damage the guard. Most importantly, you should schedule regular dental check-ups, including one right before the playing season starts. When you come to DFW Smiles for your check-up, be sure to bring your mouthguard and discuss any problems or concerns you may have with our team.
