Perfect Smile
DFW Smiles
"LIFE is what you Make of it. YOU are the only one who can change
yourself." When you look at your smile, do you like what you see?
If you don't, or if you even have questions about it, you should learn
more about what DFW Smiles can do for you.
Today's restorative technology makes it possible to achieve new levels
of natural aesthetics. Tooth-whitening, bonding, metal- free restorations,
and porcelain veneers give the cosmetic dentist options in your personal
Smile Design.
Whitening
Teeth tend to change shades, usually yellow, with age. The good news
is these superficial changes can be reversed in most cases. Custom-fitted
trays with carbamide peroxide (CP) gel, worn one to four hours a day,
is the most common whitening system. Whitening may not change the color
of existing restorations, so cosmetic bonding combined with CP whitening
is a very popular choice. When whitening is completed, tooth-colored restorations
are matched to the now whitened teeth. If you desire immediate results
or your teeth are severely stained, in-office "Power Bleaching"
may be your best choice. This method uses the highest concentration of
hydrogen peroxide, carefully applied to your teeth, and a light source
is used to activate and accelerate the whitening process. This treatment
is almost always used in conjunction with the take-home trays.
Bonding
Composite bonding is one of the most versatile and effective ways to
aesthetically restore and improve your looks. From cavities in the front
or back of your mouth to closing the spaces between front teeth, bonding
offers an affordable and effective method of restoring your smile. DFW
Smiles is proud to offer CAD/CAM technology to replace your larger, deteriorating
metal fillings in one visit. The CEREC machine allows the dentist to conserve
as much natural tooth as possible, and permanently cement the ceramic
restoration in one appointment.
Porcelain Veneers
Although full-crowns (CAPS) are necessary and the treatment of choice
in some cases, porcelain veneers are a more conservative way to hide imperfections,
change color, shape, and size. Porcelain veneers offer notice- able results
in just two visits, and if taken care of properly, may last a lifetime.
In certain situations, a change in tooth position or surface shape can
enhance the position, fullness, or shape of the lips.
Protecting Your Smile
It is easy to take some things for granted until they are suddenly gone.
Imagine what it would be like if you lost one or two of your new front
teeth. A property fitted mouth guard is an important piece of athletic
gear to help protect your smile. Mouth guards help cushion blows that
might otherwise cause broken teeth and injuries to the lips, tongue, face
or jaw. It's believed that they also may reduce the severity and incidence
of concussions. You don't have to be on the football field or in a hockey
rink to benefit from a properly fitted mouth guard, they protect all participants.
Implant Prosthetics
If you have missing teeth or wear a removable partial or full denture,
you could be a candidate for dental implants. DFW Smiles works with an
excellent team of specialists to determine if this is an option for you.
